What is DMIT?

DMIT stands for Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test, a biometric analysis that studies fingerprint patterns (dermatoglyphics) to reveal an individual’s innate talents, personality traits, learning styles, and potential, based on principles from neuroscience, genetics, psychology, and embryology. It’s used for career guidance, personal development, and educational planning, helping people understand their strengths to make informed decisions. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
This video explains the basics of the DMIT test and its scientific basis:
Key Aspects of DMIT:

* Science Behind It: It links fingerprint patterns, which form during fetal development, to brain lobes and multiple intelligences (like logical, linguistic, spatial) as theorized by Dr. Howard Gardner.
* Process: Fingerprints are scanned, and software analyzes ridge patterns to generate a report detailing innate potential, strengths, and weaknesses.
* Applications: Used for children’s education, career counseling for students and adults, personal growth, and even corporate HR for recruitment.
* Benefits: Offers insights into natural abilities, preferred learning methods, and areas for improvement, helping individuals maximize their potential. [3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

Science Behind DMIT

Fingerprint patterns are formed during fetal development, between the 13th and 19th week of gestation, at the same time when the brain is developing.

The human brain has five lobes:

  • Prefrontal

  • Frontal

  • Parietal

  • Temporal

  • Occipital

These lobes are divided into the left brain and right brain, and each finger is connected to a specific brain lobe.

Since fingerprints never change throughout life, DMIT test results also remain constant even if the test is taken again after several years.

Brain and Finger Connection

Right Brain corresponds to Left Hand, Left Brain corresponds to Right Hand

Left Brain (Right Hand)

  • Right Thumb – Communication, Management, Planning & Judgment

  • Right Index – Logic, Inference & Language Ability

  • Right Middle – Physical Recognition & Operational Comprehension

  • Right Ring – Hearing Recognition & Language Comprehension

  • Right Little – Visual Recognition & Observation Comprehension

Right Brain (Left Hand)

  • Left Thumb – Leadership Inspiration, Goals & Vision

  • Left Index – Space Imagination, Thinking & Creativity

  • Left Middle – Touch Feeling & Art Appreciation

  • Left Ring – Acoustic Feeling & Music Appreciation

  • Left Little – Visual Feeling & Graphic Appreciation
